Terms of use
Plain language, for the people who run groups on Mutua. Last updated 8 October 2026.
About these terms
These terms apply when you create a Mutua account or use Mutua to run a group. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you are setting Mutua up for a group or an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to.
Mutua is a product of Branditude Limited, a company registered in Nigeria. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Branditude Limited.
What Mutua is, and is not
Mutua is a record keeping tool. It helps you keep track of members, contributions, payments, deadlines and Ajo rotations.
Mutua is not a bank and does not hold, move or invest money. Contributions move between members and your group's own bank account, outside Mutua. Mutua records what you and your members tell it.
Mutua is in beta
Mutua is new and still being built. Features may change, be added or be removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. It is free while in beta.
Keep your own copy of anything important, such as your bank statements and an export of your records, and check figures that matter before acting on them. Please tell us about anything that looks wrong at hello@mutua.ng.
Your account
Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what the team members you invite do in it.
Your group's information
The records you put into Mutua belong to you and your group. When you add members, you confirm you have a fair reason to hold their details for running the group, and that you will use them only for that.
How Mutua looks after this information is set out in our privacy notice.
Fair use
Do not use Mutua to deceive people, to collect money under false pretences, to send messages people have not agreed to receive, to break the law, or to interfere with the service or other people's groups. We may suspend an account that does.
Disagreements within a group
Mutua shows the records your group keeps. It is not a party to arrangements between members and administrators, and it does not decide who owes what. Disagreements about payments are for your group to settle, and Mutua keeps a record of what was decided.
Responsibility
Mutua is provided as it is, during a beta. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on Mutua's records, from the service being unavailable, or from how a group handles its money. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Nigerian law that cannot be excluded.
Leaving, and changes to these terms
You can stop using Mutua at any time and ask us to export or delete your records. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell account holders by email.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Questions are welcome at hello@mutua.ng.
